Dr. Linda Hufano is Alaka’i Na Keiki’s Executive Director. She provides oversight for the agency’s quality assurance/improvement activities and together with ANK’s leadership team develops new service programs to meet the behavioral health needs of families in Hawaii. Dr. Hufano co-founded and headed the Hoahana Institute, a predecessor agency to Alaka’i Na Keiki, which began providing behavioral health and preventive services to children, youth and families in 1996. Prior to that Dr. Hufano was Branch Chief of the State of Hawaii’s Diamond Head Family Guidance Center, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Division, and former District Psychologist for the DOE’s Honolulu District. In addition to her administrative experience, Dr. Hufano continues to provide psychological services for children, adolescents, adults and families in Alaka’i Na Keiki’s Honolulu and Leeward O’ahu offices. She also supervises doctoral students/interns from Argosy University, and has held research and/or teaching positions at Pepperdine University, the University of Hawaii, and the University of Colorado; and served as Adjunct Faculty for the Department of Psychology, University of Hawaii, and the American School of Professional Psychology – Hawaii Campus. Dr. Hufano is a senior leader and supervisor participant in the Hawaii 2011/2012 TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) Learning Collaborative.
