Dr. Lysa Kama-Carr, Psy.D. has a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University. She earned degrees in Criminal Justice and Counseling Psychology from Chaminade, and is a Waianae High School grad. Dr. Kama-Carr completed her internship with Alaka’i Na Keiki which included providing Intensive-In-Home and assessment and treatment services in our outpatient clinic as well as consultation and treatment services for students receiving school-based services under a special DOE grant. She has over 10 years if experience providing mental health services, including having worked as a Sex Abuse Therapist with the Parents United Plus Program, and providing assessment and therapy at the Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center. Dr. Kama-Carr was a supervisor-participant in the Hawaii 2011/2012 TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) Learning Collaborative. Dr. Kama-Carr is an ANK trainer, providing training in MATCH-ADTC for therapists working under ANK’s intensive in-home therapy contract with the CAMHD. Dr. Kama-Carr is also credentialed to provide psychological assessment and therapy through ANK’s blended-rate contract with HMSA.
