Dr. Samantha Tavares, Psy. D. is a Hawaii-licensed clinical psychologist with over 25 years of experience providing psychological assessment and treatment services for children, teens, adults and families. As a Clinical Supervisor for Alaka’i Na Keiki, Dr. Tavares trains, supervises and monitors services provided by Alaka’i Na Keiki’s outpatient clinicians and intensive in-home therapists and sees Alaka’i Na Keiki youth and families for evaluations and outpatient therapy in the agency’s Honolulu office. Dr. Tavares’s experience includes being as a staff psychologist for Kaiser Permanente and having worked as a staff psychologist with the state of Hawaii’s Diamond Head Family Guidance Center (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Division, Department of Health) and as a contract psychologist for the state on Oahu and Kauai. She specializes in working with children and youth who have experienced physical, sexual and emotional abuse, and their biological, adoptive or foster families. Dr. Tavares was a supervisor participant in the Hawaii TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) Learning Collaborative.
