Alaka’i Na Keiki provides psychological testing, and individual, family and group therapy for children, teens, adults, and families. Services are provided throughout O’ahu under the guidance of highly qualified licensed professionals. Services provided are covered by most insurances, including HMSA, HMA, TriCare, HMSA Quest, Aloha Care Quest, and Medicaid.
Services for Children and their Families:
Alaka’i Na Keiki specializes in working with the full range of childhood and adolescent disorders, including ADHD/LD, Autism, Oppositional and Conduct Disorders, Foster/Adoptive Issues, and Physical, Emotional and/or Sexual Abuse. The agency also works with gifted and high achieving children. The service array includes:
- Specialized Assessment, including ADHD, Learning Disabilities, Autism, Gifted
- Independent Evaluations for Special Education
- Individual and Family Therapy
- Diagnostic-Specific Therapy (e.g., self-esteem, social skills, anger management, foster/adoption issues, trauma and abuse issues)
- Specialized Skills Trainer Services, including Applied Behavior Analysis, Discrete-Trial Training, Floor Time, Picture Exchange System (PECS), Pivotal Response Training, Executive Functioning Training, Verbal Behavior, and our “Super Aunty” program

Services for Adults:
Alaka’i Na Keiki provides assessment, consultation and treatment for adults. Qualified therapists offer assistance on a wide range of issues, including anxiety, phobias, depression, trauma, relationships, parenting, stress, anger, domestic violence, and substance abuse.
Services are tailored to individual preferences, needs, and the types of concerns presented at referral. The service array includes:

State-contracted Services Provided through Alaka’i Na Keiki:
Alaka’i Na Keiki has contracts to provide a wide array of behavioral health and educational services to eligible infants, toddlers, children, adolescents, adults and their families through the state of Hawaii’s Department of Health and Department of Education.
Outpatient and Intensive In-Home Services for Children and Youth with Severe Emotional Disorders (ages 3 – 20) who are eligible for services through the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Division, Dept. of Health:
- Comprehensive Assessment, Focused Assessment, and Summary Annual Assessment, and Individual, Family and Group Therapy; and
- Intensive In-Home and Community Based Services
Home and Community Based Services for Children, Youth and Adults who are eligible for services through the Developmental Disabilities Medicaid Waiver Program, Dept. of Health:
- Personal Assistance/Habilitation Services, Levels 1, 2, and 3
- Habilitation Supported Employment
- Chore Services
- Respite Services
- Training and Consultation for Caregivers by Behaviorists or Licensed Psychologists
Psychological and Intensive In-Home or Community Based Services for Infants and Toddlers with autism or other challenging developmental delays not related to autism (ages 0 to 3) who are eligible for services through Early Intervention Section, Dept. of Health:

Intensive Instructional and Behavioral Services for Special Education Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Developmental Disabilities, or Severe Emotional/Behavior Disabilities (ages 3 – 20) and eligible for services through the Dept. of Education
- Behavioral Instructional Support Services (BISS) by doctoral and master’s level professionals to the classroom consultation, service plan development and monitoring
- Parent Education/Parent Training to understand and manage challenging behaviors
- Paraprofessional Support Services (in the school and/or community)
